My ten-year-old has had a Yoto Mini for 18 months and my four-year-old has had a Yoto for 6 months. I know these audiobook players have been popular for a long time but in all honesty I held off buying them for quite a while. We use the library and second-hand book sites a lot, and I wasn’t sure if the expense of the Yoto would be worth it. I have found that Yoto Cards make great gifts for the kids and they are happy to re-listen to their cards, endlessly! For us, it has been a good investment so I thought I would share our favourite Yoto cards.

Our favourite Yoto accessories

I’d say the most essential accessory is the Adventure Jacket to protect the Yoto player. I didn’t purchase one for the Mini and wish we had, because it got dropped and cracked. It still works but it is a little temperamental now! We have an Adventure Jacket for the 3rd Gen Player and it feels much more robust!

Our favourite accessory is the Yoto Mini Travel Case. We store everything in there, the Yoto Mini, the Yoto headphones, cables and cards. It’s good to know everything is in one place, particularly when we take it in the car or to stay with family.

I’d like to get the Card Case for my son because at the moment we keep his cards in his sister’s Mini Travel Case, but we haven’t purchased it yet.

The 3rd Generation Wireless Charging Dock came in a bundle with our purchase but we personally never used it. We sold it and bought a few cards instead.

Other things

It’s worth mentioning, we do use the Make Your Own Cards. We only have five but I would purchase more in the future. So far we have mostly used this for school, where our curriculum has audio files, or the children have recorded their own stories for each other!

We use and love the Okay-To-Wake Clock on the 3rd Generation Yoto Player for my four-year-old.
